Samsung is no doubt currently ruling the Global Smart-watch market, Latest report from Strategy Analytics suggests Samsung is holding near 71 percent of share of Smart-watch market. In first quarter of 2014 Samsung shipped nearly 5 Million units of its Smart watches.
Samsung recently introduced Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, both devices launched in April. So we can claim that data include in this report is solely based on first Gen of Galaxy Gear, But total market share is an indication of how big in ration Samsung is in this Smart-watch market. On second position Sony emerged as big manufacturer of Smart watches after Samsung but difference among Samsung and Sony is very huge. Samsung success in Smart-watch is due to Korean Giant existing popularity in Smartphone market, and huge market push for Galaxy Gear from Samsung.
So far we don't have details regarding shipping numbers of Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, but we are sure we will be having information regarding shipping number will pop up in coming months. This year other giant companies like LG and Motorola are also gearing up to launch their Smartwatches based on Google new Android Wear platform.
