During annual I/O event, as expected Google announced its much hyped new version of Android OS. Surely you must heard about it, even if you don't own Android device. Google dubbed this new platform as Android L, and we can expect proper preview of this update will be available at launch time.
Google didn't revealed about final name of this update, all in all this update is quite impressive as this update brings number of new innovations in current Android platform. One of the massive change in update is UI redesign, Google is calling this UI Design as Material Design.
No doubt Android L looks very different from current Android KitKat, and it should be but that doesn't mean KitKat is not impressive, as itself it was good too. In Android L UI Google redesigned the on screen buttons, buttons are more sort of geometric shapes and are flat as well.
Google provide new set of tools dubbed as Project Volta under the hood, it's one of the significant changes. Google claimed that apps under Project Volta will run more efficiently and also will help in save battery life. As expected Android L will support 64 bit architecture system, which surely will encourage Android devices manufacturers to built Smartphones with 64 bit architecture.
Google also included support for OpenGL ES 3.1 . More details regarding the update will be discussed in preview of Android L. All gadget experts are claiming this update as one of the most important and biggest Android update from Google ever since the initial release of Android platform back in 2008.
Google released a developer preview of Android L for its Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 LTE users. Google yet to announce when final version of Android L will be released, but from look of things we can expect Android L update some time in fall. Do share your thoughts below
