Google usually releases its Software update with a new hardware device, same is the case for Android L which release is expected in fall this year alongside heavily rumored Nexus 6. Google announced latest Android OS at its annual Developers I/O event which was held in last week of June. At that event Google launched Android L as developer preview version. However, Android L is the only update which is initially released as developer preview for developers.
Developers can test Android L on couple of Nexus devices, but firmware is not working perfectly as there are still few bugs in it which result into break of your device. So far only Apple provided developer preview for its developers so that they can build apps for upcoming iOS and by testing on developer preview they can ensure whether their apps are working perfectly on new firmware or not. On the other hand for end users developer preview is glimpse of what to expect from upcoming version of their operating system.
Latest reports suggests that latest Android L is the biggest improvement is so far Google OS, and new firmware is jam-packed with over 5,000 new APIs which is quite amazing. We can expect more from Google on release of final build of Android L.
For releasing of software update Google will be releasing a new hardware device, Well according to latest rumours Google Nexus 6 is expected will be having Android L on board. Last year Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat with Nexus 5 on November 22. This year OTA update is expected will be released in October- November time-frame. For this year Google yet to announce its first hardware device but so far only Nexus 8/9 and Nexus 6 is expected will be released later this year.
