As we are approaching fourth quarter of the year, rumours of Android L started once again and now with each passing day we have new news regarding Android L OS. Recently it's confirmed that next Android iteration will be released as Android 5.0 and will be dubbed as Lemon Meringue Pie. So far it's not confirmed which device will be the first to have Android L as OS. Latest reports suggest Google will be releasing Nexus 9 with Android L. Other prominent Specs include a 64-bit Tegra K1 processor with 4 GB of RAM.
Recently Android L has been noticed in the chromium issue tracker, where Android L is dubbed as LRW50D. Now if we consider this codename, it certainly gives us idea what this codename means. For sure first letter is for Android L known as Lemon Meringue Pie. Second alphabet is R which is code of the branch from where this build of Android L originates. Third alphabet is W which means third quarter of this year and at the end 50D means 50 days after starting of third quarter. So at the end we can claim that release of Android L was pegged for August 19th.
As I mentioned above nearly all reports are suggesting Nexus 8 as first device to have Android L and today alleged device running Android Lemon Meringue Pie LRW50D was new Nexus 7 which is referred as last year Nexus 7 LTE.
