Google Nexus 6 vs Nexus 5: Everything Buyer Need To Know

Finally, rumours regarding Google Nexus 6 came to an end because Google officially wraps off the one of most awaited Smartphone of this year last week. This year Nexus 6 is manufactured by Motorola and for the first time Google launched a device of phablet niche. Sometimes changes are accepted by end customers but sometime they are not accepted.
Today we will take a look on how last year flagship Nexus 5 will compete against this year Nexus 6. Nexus 5 is still available through Play Store. This means buyers have an open option between this year flagship and last year device.

We will discuss every aspect one by one. First and most prominent change among last year and this year flagship is screen display size. This year flagship Nexus 6 is featuring a 5.9 inches display while last year Nexus 5 is featuring a 4.95 inches display.  We will not discuss whether it’s a good move by Google or not but we are glad Google launched a new Smartphone.
Nexus 5 was featuring a 4.95 inches display with a screen resolution of 1080 pixels while this year flagship is packed with 5.9 inches display with a Quad HD screen resolution. Nexus 5 was offering LCD display but this year device is packed with AMOLED display.
Google always tried to provide the best option available in the market, Last year Nexus 5 was packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that was best option available that time. This year Nexus 6 is featuring Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 805 processor with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 420 GPU.  The processing package in Nexus 6 is same like this year Galaxy Note 4, So users can expect same kind of performance from Nexus 6 as well.
Storage & Battery
Nexus 5 was launched with 16GB and 32GB native storage variants, but this year minimum variant of Nexus 6 is packed with 32GB while maximum variant is available with 64GB memory storage.
The Nexus 5 was powered by a 2300 mAh battery that was not enough for a 5 inches display Smartphone. Nexus 6 is packed with a relatively large battery of 3220 mAh. So that buyers won’t face battery issues like last year.

No doubt last year Google made a comprise with Nexus 5 camera. Although Nexus 5 8MP camera provides decent Image quality but now Nexus 6 is packed with13MP camera which is surely will provide Images of much good quality as compared to Nexus 5.
Final Thoughts:
Although Nexus 5 have few shortcomings but it stands up because of its low price tag. Even today Nexus 5 is one of the best mid-range Smartphone available in the market. Nexus 5 pros are its sleek design with good processing package but cons are its average battery life and an average mid ranger 8MP camera.
Main reason of Nexus series success is its price tag with high end Specs. Although Nexus 6 is also offering high end Specs but price tag of this year device is not pocket friendly anymore. Everyone understands increase in price tag is because Google adds certain reasonable changes to this year Nexus 6. Nexus 6 is pretty much comparable to all other companies’ high end Smartphones but price tag of Nexus 6 is still low as compared other high end devices.
If Nexus 6 is last Nexus Smartphone then surely Google provides everything what fans can expect from last device of the series.
