Many Google Nexus users are waiting eagerly for the Android Lollipop for their devices, initially we have news of Google will be releasing OTA update with Nexus 9 release but so far Google kept its plan regarding the update in dark. Plenty of rumors are swirling regarding why Google is not releasing Android 5.0 update but according to latest reports Android 5.0 is facing few bugs which is not allowing Google to release update.
Google Bug Tracker indicated that latest bug impacts the of battery life for the last year flagship Nexus 5. Recently Google Trevor Johns also stated that Google know the issue and they are currently working on it to solve the bug before release. He said “Android Engineering is aware of an issue affecting Nexus 5 users running Android 5.0 which causes significant ‘Miscellaneous’ battery usage while WiFi is enabled. This appears to be caused by an abnormally high number of IRQ wakeup events. We are continuing to investigate this issue”.
We are not sure whether the bug is the only reason which is holding Google from releasing the update or Google wanted to send update once the Nexus 6 will be released. Initial reports also indicated Google is planning to release update initially for its tab line-up and last year Nexus 7 will be among the first device which will be getting the update.
Latest reports indicated Google might start releasing the update by the mid of November. Either way, Nexus owners will be getting the update soon. For now, Nexus users have to be patient for the update. Do Share your thoughts below what are your expectation from Android Lollipop on your Nexus devices.
