Google held a Developers Conference in Mountain View for Porject Ara on Wednesday, Tech giant announced the Spiral 2 at the conference. It’s important to know that Spiral 2 is the first modular Smartphone which will be available for sale.
Specs of device are not like high end flagship devices. Device is featuring a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution display. There are two application processors to power up the device. First is NVIDIA Tegra K1 while second is the Marvell PXA1928. Rear camera of device is 5MP. Other features includes 3G, Bluetooth and WI-FI connectivity.
At present, Spiral 2 has 11 working modules. Battery of device is of 30% less capacity than normal handsets. Although currently there are currently 11 modules but we can expect 30 by the end of this year. One of the module will offer an improved camera while other features 4G LTE connectivity.
Initially Spiral 2 will be available in Puerto Rico because it’s a small market and connected to US. Release in Puerto Rico will allow Google to work with the FCC on Project Ara because releasing it world-wide.
Spiral 2 is just announced and we already have rumours of Spiral 3 with a long lasting battery and 4G LTE connectivity on board. Google released a little video which shows how users can convert their phone into higher specs Smartphone by using the modular parts.
