Samsung Wants to Purchase BlackBerry for $7.5 Billion: BlackBerry Denies

As per latest report from Reuters Samsung is in talks with Canadian giant BlackBerry because they wanted to buy BlackBerry for up to $7.5 billion. Reuters source further suggests that last week both companies executives met to evaluate the final deal.
Samsung is not working with advisers to finalize the purchase. Report further suggests Samsung offers $13.35 to $15.49 per share which is nearly 38% over the actual trading price of BlackBerry’s share.
Although currently BlackBerry is not an important in the Smartphone industry but company has a rich patent collection not only in hardware but also in software. Reuters suggests main reason of Samsung purchase is the acquisition of BlackBerry’s patent collection.

In stock market possible deal of Blackberry with Samsung lift the BlackBerry’s share upto 30 %.  Soon after these reports BlackBerry denied that they are in talks with Samsung. They responded by stating.
“BlackBerry is aware of certain press reports published today with respect to a possible offer by Samsung to purchase BlackBerry. BlackBerry has not engaged in discussions with Samsung with respect to any possible offer to purchase BlackBerry. BlackBerry’s policy is not to comment on rumours or speculation, and accordingly it does not intend to comment further”.
