Why Google Nexus 6 Skipped Fingerprint Scanner: Official Explanation

Last year Google’s flagship Nexus 6 was another successful flagship of the Nexus Lineup. Despite of its success device misses few main features and one of them was finger print scanner.  After release of device we have rumours that Nexus 6 missed this feature at last time but was not confirmed officially.

Today we have official confirmation of this news from Dennis Woodman who was Motorola chief executive at that time. He also explains why Nexus 6 skipped this security feature. He said

“The secret behind that is that it was supposed to be fingerprint recognition, and Apple bought the best supplier. So the second best supplier was the only one available to everyone else in the industry and they weren’t there yet,”

Like I mentioned above we have rumours before Nexus 6 launch that upcoming flagship from Google will be having finger print scanner. Google wanted to use swipe based scanner like we have seen on Samsung devices.

First flagship Smartphones from major manufacturers are expected at MWC, with release of Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 we can depict whether we will be getting a system varied provision for the finger print feature or not.
