Samsung released a new version of its TouchWiz with the launch of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Both devices pre-orders are record breaking, stats are pretty enough to tell the success story. So far only both aforementioned devices are running latest TouchWiz Android 5.1 version.
Although both devices are running Android 5.1, but other Samsung fans should not expect update very soon because Korean giant scheduled the Android 5.1 roll out for second half of this year.
One of the main aspect of this update is Samsung removed much of bloatware which makes the new version of TouchWiz much lighter than its predecessor. Being a lighter skin TouchWiz version makes the new OS much faster.
On launch of 2015 flagships, Samsung claimed their new OS is 40% lighter than earlier versions. Some analyst believes that Samsung new TouchWiz is more inspired by Tizen than latest version of Android.
Although new TouchWiz is still colorful and bright but many Samsung fans are still criticizing the new iteration of TouchWiz. We should appreciate the Samsung’s effort which is really a big step in the right direction of making TouchWiz lighter and faster. We have news that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be the first Samsung device which will receive Android 5.1 TouchWiz OTA update later in second half of the year.
