Google is updating its Nexus devices with Android 5.1 lollipop update but this process is not as far as we are hoping. Initially Google updated its Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 and 5 with latest Android 5.1 update and couple of days ago we told you that Google start rolling out Android 5.1 lollipop OTA update for its 2012 Flagship Nexus 4. Today we have reports Google now start updating its 2013 Nexus 7 LTE with latest lollipop update.
On the other hand, WI-FI version of 2013 Nexus 7 is still waiting for the OTA android lollipop 5.1 update. In case if you are willing to update your Nexus 7 either WI-FI or LTE version with Android 5.1, Google has posted the factory images of 5.1 update for both Nexus 7 2013 variants. Source link of the 5.1 update factory images is given below.
Before updating your device, let me warn your flagship the factory image on your device will erase your data. So if you wanted to update your device with factory image, make a backup before start flashing update.
We heard couple of reports suggesting Google Android 5.0 update is bricking couple of Nexus devices including both generations of Nexus 7 but hopefully this Android 5.1 update will solve the bricking problem.
As the latest android 5.1 update is mainly focused on bug fixes and couple of improvements and last but not the least a narrow range of new OS features.
