BlackBerry allegedly working on first Android Smartphone

From the look of things it seems BlackBerry is also getting ready to do a comeback. According to latest report from Re/Code Company, is allegedly working on a new Android Smartphone, the release of this device will be in fall this year.

Even though latest BlackBerry devices are pretty much able to install Android Applications, but now the company wants to launch an Android running Smartphone instead of running on their own BlackBerry 10 OS.

Back at MWC 2015, BlackBerry teased a slider smartphone with a dual edge display and a physical keyboard which opens after sliding. At that, we have reports this device might turn out to be the next flagship from Blackberry i.e. BlackBerry 10 but now it seems this device might be the announced as the first Android smartphone from the company.

The sources suggest that BlackBerry main aim to become Android manufacturer is they want to promote their device management solution BES 12. By using this solution, the owners can access their smartphones remotely. Although this software was established for BlackBerry devices, but it can manage other OS devices too. Windows, Android and iOS devices can be managed by using this solution.

By launching their first Android smartphone, BlackBerry can prove that their smartphone management software can be used on all major platforms not only on BlackBerry latest devices. So far Re/Code has the pretty good track record on reports regarding upcoming devices, but we have to wait for few more reports regarding this device in upcoming weeks.

Would you like to have first Android smartphone manufactured by BlackBerry?
