With the start of new month, Google releases new distribution numbers for all Android versions. Android Lollipop is improving its position and now powering 15.5% of all Android devices. The Android 5.1 Lollipop is running on 2.6% devices of entire Android clan. So this means nearly 18.1 % devices are on latest Android Lollipop.
Android Lollipop gained 5.7 % from last month. The Android KitKat 4.4 is still enjoying the king position with a gigantic share of 39.3%. The Android jellybean 4.1 to 4.3 is on the second position with a share of 33.6%. Lollipop is on third while Gingerbread is on the fourth position with a share of 4.6% followed by earlier versions of Android OS.
This data is obtained by Google from visitors of Google Play Store. As Lollipop share is progressing with each passing month, we can expect Android Lollipop will get more share as many new smartphones with Android 5.1 are going to release in this month
