Samsung Galaxy S7 half devices will be powered by Snapdragon 820, other half by Exynos 8890

As per so far leaks, one thing was confirmed that Samsung will not ignore Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor but will be utilizing it in 2016 flagship Galaxy S7. We also have reports that SAMY engineers are helping Qualcomm to manufacture their next chipset on a 14nm process and also resolving all issues that Qualcomm faced with Snapdragon 810.

As mentioned above, it was sure that Samsung will be using Qualcomm’s latest chipset but how many devices will be equipped with Qualcomm’s chipset was not sure till today. According to the latest reports from Korean media Samsung is planning to power half of its Galaxy S7 chipsets with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset, so we can expect ratio will be 1:1 between Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890.

Initially, we have reports that only US variants of Galaxy S7 will be powered by Snapdragon 820 as they are perfectly attuned with US carriers LTE modems but now Samsung own Exynos 8890 will also be (SOC) System on a chip package similar to Snapdragon 820.

Samsung is helping Qualcomm to build fine Snapdragon 820 because manufacturing enough Exynos 8890 SOC won’t be possible for Samsung that’s why to maintain a good balance in demand and supply Samsung is doing certain things to ensure a good supply of SOC for the 2016 flagship Galaxy S7.
