The upcoming Samsung’s Galaxy S7 is in the news for last few days and with each passing day we have new reports regarding the upcoming flagship GS7. As per the latest rumours, the Galaxy S7 will be powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 8890 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820.
The Exynos 8890 will surely dethrone the Exynos 7420 to become the most powerful chipset in the market. Samsung already started mass production of this chipset which was early rumoured will be in December. The Korean giant is preparing itself to use Exynos 8890 in one of the Galaxy S7 variants.
Early mass production of chipset could be an indication that Samsung is looking forward to announcing the one of the most anticipated next year flagships few weeks earlier than usual timeframe. Recently we have news that Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy S7 in February 2016 with an announcement in January 2016.
The Galaxy S7 will be released in two variants, one will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset while second will be powered by Samsung’s own build Exynos 8890 chipset. As per so far info, the Exynos 8890 is an Octa-core chipset with a clocking speed of 2.4GHz. This chipset will also be built on a 14nm process with custom ARM V8 cores.
Well, if you are wondering how this chipset will perform, we have Geek benchmark results of Exynos 8890 which gives us a pretty good idea how much capable this chipset is. On single thread test, the chipset attained 2,304 points where as on multi-thread, it achieves 8,038 points.
According to the benchmark results, this chipset is nearly 1.75 times more powerful than Apple’s A9 chipset on multi-thread processing where as it lacks 1.1 times on single thread processing.
