After the announcement of their latest flagships Samsung now starts rolling out Android Marshmallow update for their older models. The Galaxy S5 is the new device in the list which is now getting the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update.
Even though the GS5 is not the latest smartphone but Samsung’s 2014 flagship device is pretty much capable of running the latest firmware of Google Android OS. As expected the South Korean variant of GS5 (SM-G900L) are the first devices receiving the update G900MUBU1CPC3.
From last week or so, Korean giant Samsung is doing plenty of activity as far as the update roll out is a concern. Recently Sprint starts to roll out of Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Note 4. Before this Samy rolls out Android 6.0.1 to the Galaxy S6 edge+ devices all around the globe.
Even though it’s not confirmed when Galaxy S5 users in other countries will be getting the update but from the look of things, it seems other countries GS5 models will be getting the update pretty soon in near future.
As the latest Android 6.0.1 is a major update which drags the current Android Lollipop users to a new Android version Marshmallow that’s why OTA update is of 1.47 GB.
