It is very rare when manufacturer release first flagship device and it achieves more attention of customers than the company was expecting. Same is the case with OnePlus, their first flagship managed to grab a lot of attention and device was one of the best smartphones of the year. After the success of the first flagship, everyone was looking for the next flagship OnePlus 2 but unfortunately, it failed to retain the success of first flagship OnePlus 1.
There were few wrongs with the last year OnePlus 2. First of all was the design, company didn’t make major changes in design area what people was expecting from the second flagship and device was hyped even claimed to be a flagship killer of the year but on launch device lacks in many hardware areas that is why it was not able to compete against flagships available in the market.
Now for this year flagship, it looks like, the Chinese manufacturer has learnt their lesson and all set to unveil their 2016 flagship with some major changes pretty much in line what customers are expecting. The OnePlus 3 will surely address all issues of OnePlus fans.
As per latest info from the well-known leaker, Evan Blass, the OnePlus 3 will be better than its predecessors in all fields. Today Evan posted a screenshot of the upcoming flagship of OnePlus. Surprisingly, the device is running on Android N preview build version of company’s Oxygen OS 3.1.0.
The latest Android Marshmallow build for OnePlus devices is OxygenOS 3.0, so a bump indicates the company is allegedly testing Android N preview build for OnePlus 3 but before making any judgement, we are sure that company won’t be waiting for final release of Android N and will release OnePlus 3 with Android Marshmallow on board. Once Android N final version is released, the company will soon roll out the latest Android N as well.
Evan also confirmed specs details of the device. He confirmed the return of NFC with the latest OnePlus flagship and also mentions 5.5 inches full HD display which will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 Soc with 4GB of RAM and base model with 64 GB internal storage. The rear camera will be of 16MP.
This year once again, OnePlus is planning to introduce their flagship smartphone with the VR headset and they are even distributing free cardboard VR headsets ahead of official launch. However a 1080 pixels is not good enough to provide customers best VR experience but it will provide much better battery life as compared to quad HD display. So it would be interesting to see how well OnePlus 3 will be appreciated by customers and gadget experts on launch.
